Welcome on the QUANTIHEAT European research project website

QUANTItative scanning probe microscopy techniques for HEAT transfer management in nanomaterials and nanodevices

The QUANTIHEAT project tackles issues related to thermal metrology at the nanoscale and aims at delivering validated standards, methods and modeling tools for nanothermal designs and measurements. This 4-year project brings together 20 partners from 7 different European countries and 2 associated countries. It has received funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n°604668.

Scientific school on "Thermal Instrumentation and Metrology for Micro/Nano: fundamentals and applications" held from 30 November to 5 December 2014

This school took place in Fréjus in France and was organized in the frame of Quantiheat project by the coordinator, CNRS-CETHIL. This school was a real success and gathered 68 participants from Quantiheat and from external organisations.

The lectures were very comprehensive and varied and dealt with optical techniques, electrical techniques, SPM techniques for thermometry,  thermophysical and mechanical characterization of materials, modelling in support for the interpretation and for the analysis of measurement and finally with metrology. This school allowed researchers, students and industrials to have a better overview of the recent researchs carried out in the field of micro-nano thermal and to get some new perspectives in their research. In particular for Quantiheat partners, the main objective was to get the same level of knowledge in the research’s fields of the Project.

Above all, this scientific school was the opportunity for all participants to meet and have a lot of fruitful exchanges and maybe in the future develop some interesting collaborations.
